Carry around a book with a sock in it.

I'll probably be Poison Ivy for Halloween because I have a nerd boyfriend and red hair.
And I've been reading a lot of Batman lately because he lets me borrow all his graphic novels and blah blah blah...
But I have no idea.
Apparently if I am dating him I MUST celebrate halloween because the town he is from in Ireland do really full on stuff for it so it's important to him and as much as I enjoy Halloween, I'm usually too lazy.

I have the same problem, Ash. My boss wants us to dress up (at IGA?) for Halloween but I don't want to go all out because a) I work in a massive shopping centre and the one day I dress up and look like an idiot WILL be the one day I see everyone I know, and b) I can't afford anything expensive. I thought I could wear devil horns that I got in a show bag one year and a red or black top with my black work pants, but I thought I could maybe wear a devil tail too? I just don't know where to find one!

Although it's probably not such a good idea, I put money on it that a creepy old customer man will make some dirty comment about being dressed up as a devil...

I can't be bothered with Halloween. I thought maybe I could find a long black jacket with a hood and say I was the Grim Reaper but, of course, it's Summer. Meh, Glen can deal with "I came as myself coz I suck"

Why oh why do shop owners in Australia think it's a good idea to make their staff dress up for Halloween? It's NOT an Australian tradition/holiday...

for parties it's different though...

I know what you mean. It's different if it's Christmas or Australia Day or something. Then again, my work is owned by Zimbabwe people, maybe they celebrate it there?

Personally I don't care either way, I'm dressing up only because dressing up is fun not because I care about Halloween, and if we weren't being asked to dress up I honestly wouldn't give it a second though. HOWEVER, I can see what's going to happen: I bet some customer is going to get worked up about it not being an Australian thing and take offence and have a go at someone and it's going to be a whole lot of fun. Yes, I don't give a whole lot of credit to our customers...but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if someone does something like that.

My flat's having a Christmas themed dress-up party on the 19th of December. My first idea was "present!" but then Paul was like, "I'm going as a GIFT BOX!" Dick. So now I'm stumped. Christmas tree? Reindeer? Candy cane? Or would I be best to scour op shops for the tackiest Christmas sweaters I can find and make all my friends wear them so we're like the tacky Christmas sweater brigade? (It'll be a David Bain Christmas!)

I just thought before, it'd be really easy to dress up as one of Santa's elves. Might do that.

Or Michelle and I had an idea of how I could do the Christmas tree costume - buy some green felt, cut it into the shape of a tree, sew it together at the sides leaving an open space for arms, leave the bottom open for legs; stitch some tinsel onto it and hang baubles from the tinsel. Wear a pointy green hat in matching felt for the top of the tree. Ta-da! Walking talking Christmas treeeee!

Only downside of that costume is the possibility of people constantly wanting to see the box underneath the tree.

Bahahaha.

I like the tree idea.

If you want to be completely unispired and lazy, I'd say Mrs Clause.
Or you could go as this guy:

I'm thinking a white unitard with red striping and be a candy cane.
Or go as Scrooge. Is that his name?

I'd go as a candy cane, red top, white shorts, some red stockings, white shoes. hahahaha, but I am a lazy outfit maker.

Irrelevant, but I am planning to go to a dress up party as a beautiful katamari. Basically, I am going to stick stuff to my clothes and face, like toys, stickers, to make it look like I have been rolled over stuff, and Hayden is going to push me around. Sounds lame, right? Yes, I was playing the game earlier, and then I went to a craft shop and saw some car and speed sign stickers...and the little lightbulb started to flicker.

Work's Christmas party is themed "Sunset Strip." My main idea at the moment is to go as a flapper girl. I know the idea is to go as celebrities but I got bored and did some research and found that the Strip was a popular place for illegal drinking when Prohibition was in place in the '20s. Also, I keep seeing tassle dresses in shop windows and want an excuse to buy one. Opinions?
