Foundations not basic siany.
Dont - unless you want to make you skin all eewy and you have wto wear foundation from here on in because youve worn it so much now.
Unless youve got SHIITTTTTT skin (which i doubt) and you can do witha good covering then yeah, its ok. As long as you clean well.

Lipgloss isnt hard.

Umm Really, my essentials just for going out shops or whatever is mascara, bit of eyeliner and bronzer. Id say skip the eyeliner, maybe a touch of bronzer or blush (something to make you look a bit more.. alive?) and def mascara.

Mineral make ups always good if you want a foundation to even out. Mines fantastic but exxy - i got it trade price =] Its got antibacterial qualities even!

Also is there any sort of lipgloss I should be looking for or is all lipgloss the same? Because they sell lipgloss like EVERYWHERE (I think I've seen it in Jay Jays) so does it differ in quality or is it all the same?

mineral foundation is around now (basically the same type of thing as thin lizzy) (Loreal, Revlon etc) its good because its not heavy like foundation and it evens everything out a bit and you cannot fail because you just brush it all over your face Smile
umm, foundation is a hard one because you really have to try before you buy to get a true match to your skin (which means being able to see it in natural light) and i also think that what you pay for = how good a quality it is

Lipgloss in shops like Supre and Jay Jays will be lesser quality than one by a specific makeup brand, but I guess it all depends on what you like.
For example, Diva had a really beautiful lip gloss which smelled so yum.
Depends on if you want clear, tasty, really shiny or just a little bit of shine.
For me, its Lipsmackers. A little colour, a little shine, a little health, perfect.

Get lipgloss from well-known make-up brands. I find that some that are from random places tend to be really sticky, especially clear glosses, and I HATE sticky. A good clear lipgloss is Rimmel Jelly Gloss (about $10 from Target, Kmart, even Coles). It comes in lots of yummy flavours/colours, but when you're actually wearing it the colour isn't noticeable and it's just shiny. If you want a bit more colour, my favourite would have to be Covergirl Wetslicks. They come in a tube with a sponge-tip applicator and have some really nice colours; I have a light pink, a neutral brown and I did have just a clear one with a bit of sparkle, until I lost it... Again, you can get them from Kmart and Target and they cost a little more than the Rimmel lipglosses. I also like Chi Chi lipglosses, the ones that come in a pot. They last FOREVER and are a good price for good quality lipgloss, maybe around $20? My favourite shade is called Maneater, it's pink but it's not too bright and it's very glossy. You can buy Chi Chi products from Myer.

Yes, lipgloss is my forte Razz

I like Nivea Lip Care Cherry (not glossy so much, just a little bit of colour and smells awwwwesome)
And good ol' Body Shop Born Lippy lipglosses - the ultimate lip gloss, but I don't know if they still make them. It's almost empty but I still sit there smelling my strawberry one all the time =)

I also like Miki ones, I got a free pack of six from somewhere and they're pretty cool, but they are sticky and that pisses me off to no end when it's windy and my hair blows in my face and gets sticky lip gloss in it, grrrr.

YES, they are awesome! They still make them, I saw them there a few weeks ago. Mmm, strawberry and mango and passionfruit and watermelon...

i hate sticky too. day to day i use softlips vanilla yumm its $3 from coles/woolies

i buy expensive makeup because i have allergic type reactions to a fair bit. i use mostly clinique/revlon - their lipglosses have plumping stuff in them too
thats the other thing, if its really cheap- generally avoid it, its not good

I've found Body Shop is the best for allergic reactions - Clinique gave me the 2nd worst skin reaction I've ever had. First being Dove tinted moisturiser, had a rash for 2 weeks. All over my face. Eurgh.

Softlips smells good! Ohhh I love cheap lipglosses. This may sound weird but if you just want clear and a little bit of shine, vasoline works wonders on the lips.

How does that plumping stuff work? I've always wondered.

Er... really? I know you've done a course and everything, but I wear foundation at least three days a week, and my skin is still good... I was under the impression as long as you don't stack it on two inches thick, make sure you're using the right stuff and clean all your make-up off at night, you'll be sweet?

Maybe I just have super-skin.

As far as lip glosses go Sian, I wear plain ol' Chapstick virtually all the time - that's my insurance policy for nice lips. Clinique Buttershine is the nicest gloss I've come across - it's a bit like a lipstick, but very sheer and with a little bit of gloss; it has good staying power and moisturises as well. Heavenly. Other than that I just buy and try; Revlon have some cool shades and they're not too sticky. Australis are cheap and have good colours but REALLY sticky, which I hate. And yep, as Alex said, Chi Chi have some really nice ones too... oh and Body Shop! Definitely with all the girls who recommended Body Shop, that shit is divine.

Mascara is really not a biggie, it depends what you're looking for - I tend to ignore all the ads because I don't want an amazing mascara that makes my lashes triple the size and scares small children away. I just want something that makes them a bit darker and nicer. I buy the most basic Revlon available; it's about $20 and I like it because it's comparatively cheap, looks good and actually stays on my lashes. (I had a bad experience with a Maybelline mascara that would smudge all over my face anytime I rubbed my eye... ew.)

Gahh i feel like im wearing a mask when i wear liquid foundation - i know you should super duper clean it ALL off. If you leave bits on its going to glug up your skin and stuff.
Honestly, At our ages we DONT NEED foundation unless its a big occasion! Use tinted moisturisor if you have to.

3 days a week would be ok, just not every. single. day. all day long.

Lip glosses - Paw paw ointment =] Love.
It goes good, its sort of glosy and its fantastic for lips.

I use whatevers in my hand bag though, really. Im searching for the perfect nudey browny lipgloss so if anyone has one yell! No glitter. Yuuckkk i hate glittery lipglosses.

Lipgloss does differ in quality. Chapstick is the best lip balm, I think. And if I'm going to be wearing lip gloss I always put lip balm on first, before the gloss.

So Revlon is a good mascara brand? I think I will make Mum buy me some today, "for job interviews and such" Wink

I am a bad child, today is mothers day!

Hmmm there is black brown mascara and black black mascara, which should I get? Help?

Yuck, me too. Glitter just... looks bad. Um, about the nudey browny lip gloss - I have a Clinique Buttershine that is like magic on a mouth, it's nudey and browny and glossy but lipsticky and moisturising and expensive but gooood. Maybe hunt one down and see if that's what you're after?
